Installations and plants of pharmaceutical and food manufacturers are mostly made of stainless steel or chrome-plated surfaces. While this allows them to stay immaculate even after years and decades, inventory surveys for conversion and adaptation measures become particularly difficult. These highly reflective materials are ordinarily ill-suited to scanning especially with 3D laser-scanners. We took on these challenges and together with a reputable laser scanner manufacturer have developed a method of measuring such installations using 3D laser-scanning.

Reflective surfaces are as good as invisible to laser-scanners.
